OIL & GAS

HPNA Removal

To have maximum capacity for HPNAs, the activated carbon used needs a high capacity at the low ppm of C11+ hydrocarbons, typically encountered at ~200°C. This is accomplished by a ensuring a high proportion of larger pores having a radius greater than 200 Angstroms and this affords the greatest protection to downstream equipment and catalysts.

These undesirable components in the feed or recycle to a hydrocracking reaction zone can be removed with products from our PetroSorb™ range. Specifically, PetroSorb™ 1200 8 x 30 mesh or PetroSorb™ 5010 8 x 30 mesh, fit the correct profile for the effective removal of HPNA compounds.
