There are numerous applications for activated carbon in breweries, covering process water treatment for dechlorination (with AquaSorb C series or 1000 series carbons), chloramine removal (with AquaSorb CX-MCA), colour removal (with ColourSorb G series or ColourSorb HP series powdered carbons), odour removal (with ColourSorb CP1), and carbon dioxide purification (EcoSorb GXB).
Activated carbon serves as an ideal additive for pigmentation used in liquorice production. Jacobi provides our high purity ColourSorb SP-E153 and ColourSorb E153-Pharma carbons for this application.
One of the most common applications of activated carbon is the purification of various sweeteners, including sucrose, glucose and fructose syrup. Jacobi offers a variety of ColorSorb grades (H100 and H600 series granular carbons, G series and HP series powders) for all forms of sweetener treatment for the removal of colour and other unwanted byproducts.
Activated is commonly used for the decolorisation of extracts uses in the lactic acid process. Our ColourSorb G series and ColourSorb HP series powdered carbons have been used in this service.
